Hitchcock. Graphite and Watercolor. 2011.
This piece was supposed to go in my school’s yearbook but after several issues involving the Holy Spirit flying away from the observer rather than towards and my reluctance to attach a head to the bird’s back, the piece was pulled. I wasn’t very bothered by what happened but I was left with a random dove. This summer the storms were nonstop so I sat outside and painted the sky as the background to illustrate my feelings towards birds: they scare me. They’re gorgeous but they scare me.
